Enjoy a convenient hotel pick-up from Cairo or Giza and travel for around 1.5 hour in a modern air-conditioned vehicle to Wadi El-Natrun, the historic birthplace of Christian monasticism. Once home to nearly 50 monasteries, today only four ancient monasteries remain, offering a unique spiritual and cultural experience. Begin your guided tour at Deir al-Baramus, the oldest and most secluded monastery, where you’ll meet local monks and learn about centuries of monastic life. Continue to Deir Anba Bishoi, famous for preserving the body of Saint Bishoi. Then visit Deir Abu Maqar, one of the most active monasteries with a thriving monastic community and vast agricultural lands. Conclude your journey at Deir El-Suryani, known for its compact structure and rich heritage. After exploring these sacred sites, relax on your return drive back to your hotel in Cairo, completing an unforgettable Wadi El-Natrun monasteries tour.
