Discover what it feels like to breathe underwater with a guided Try Scuba experience at Blue Spring State Park. Designed for first-time divers, this adventure lets you experience scuba in one of Florida’s most iconic natural springs.

With a professional Florida Dive Company instructor, you’ll learn scuba basics, underwater breathing, communication, and essential skills before entering the spring. No scuba certification is required.

Once underwater, experience Blue Spring from a new perspective while looking for turtles, gar, fish, manatees and other wildlife. Every experience is different, and you never know what Mother Nature may bring. Wildlife and sightings are never guaranteed.

Try Scuba is perfect for anyone who has wondered what scuba diving is like but isn’t ready to commit to full certification.

No certification or prior scuba experience is required. This introductory experience does not result in a scuba certification.

Blue Spring State Park entry fees are paid separately at the gate and are currently $6 per vehicle for 2–8 guests, $4 for a single-occupant vehicle, or $2 per person for extra passengers

Meeting and pickup

Meeting point

Check in at the ranger station and ask for a park map. Follow “Dive Company” signs to the Upper Day-Use Area. We’re next to the Cantina/Gift Locker. Arrive at the park 1 hour early and at our check-in 30 minutes early. Ask a ranger or contact us if needed.

What to expect

Experience scuba diving for the first time with a guided Try Scuba or Scuba Discovery adventure at Blue Spring State Park.

After meeting your Dive Company instructor, you’ll be introduced to the scuba equipment, basic underwater communication, breathing techniques, and essential skills needed for your experience. No prior scuba experience or certification is required.

Once ready, your instructor will guide you into the crystal-clear spring where you’ll experience the incredible feeling of breathing underwater while exploring Blue Spring from an entirely new perspective. Along the way, you may encounter native and non-native fish species, turtles, gar, and other freshwater wildlife. Every experience is different, and we never know what Mother Nature may bring. Wildlife and sightings are never guaranteed.

Your instructor stays with you throughout the experience, allowing you to progress at a comfortable pace while gaining confidence underwater.

Scuba equipment and guaranteed entry to Blue Spring State Park are included.
