We are Rio's original walking food tour (since 2013). Your food guides are local experts - food writers, journalists, and people who know how to have a great time in Rio! We have over 13 years of experience in helping visitors find with the best places to eat and drink in Rio. During the tour you'll eat and drink in places the locals go, making a genuine connection with Rio's unique culture. You'll eat delicious food, enjoy amazing drinks, you'll meet cariocas (Rio's locals) and at the end of the tour you'll be setup with recommendations and suggestions for more places to eat, have fun and enjoy other activities for the rest of your time in Rio. We can accommodate all dietary restrictions - vegetarians, pescatarians, food allergies, celiacs, people who don't eat pork and people who don't drink alcohol.

We start with a visit to a gorgeous, bustling street market full of beautiful produce - exotic fruits, street food stalls and everyday locals buying their groceries for the week. It's a brilliant way to start the tour - a good dose of authentic local culture and customs. You'll do an exotic fruit tasting and there'll also be classic market street food.

Next up you'll visit an authentic Amazonian restaurant. This is where homesick Amazonians who live in Rio go to get the things they miss from home - yummy crab claws, weird flavoured ice-creams, the best açaí in Rio and a few other surprises.

Heading north, you'll visit Lapa and a traditional Brazilian-Portuguese restaurant (opened in 1903). A sit-down meal with delicious fish and meat dishes (and plenty of drinks included).

Finally we'll visit a super cool 'hole in the wall' place which specialises in petiscos (kind of like Brazilian tapas) - there'll be beers, caipirinhas, loads of delicious light snacks. Often we'll spot off-duty chefs and food writers having their lunch here. And of course we'll finish with something sweet and delicious!
