The tour begins in the heart of Grottaglie with the imposing Episcopio Castle, admired from the outside as it dominates the city with a striking and elegant presence that immediately introduces the historic charm of the town.
From here, you enter the famous Ceramics Quarter, the true symbol of Grottaglie, where picturesque alleys and artisan workshops create an open-air museum filled with ancient kilns, vibrant colors, and traditions passed down through the centuries.
The walk continues through the historic center, among white alleys, stone arches, hidden courtyards, and noble palaces rich in history. Here, the murals by Paolo Carriere stand out, featuring characters from famous anime and cartoons, along with pop icons and well-known figures that bring the walls to life.
The tour concludes in front of the Cathedral of Maria SS. Annunziata, with its Romanesque façade and polychrome majolica dome, a symbol of the historical and cultural identity of Grottaglie.
