Get ready for an exciting adventure starting from your hotel. At the agreed time, you'll meet our knowledgeable Egyptologist Guide and skilled driver in the hotel lobby. We'll take a scenic drive along the Mediterranean coastline to Alexandria (about 3 Hrs. Driving). Upon arrival, we'll drive along the Cornish to see the whole city, passing over a bridge of Stanly, an unknown soldier of Alexandria, and the statue of Alexander the Great.
Our first stop is the impressive catacombs of Kom El-Shuqqafa. These ancient burial chambers date back to the 2nd century AD and combine Egyptian, Greek, and Roman styles. It's a fascinating place that shows the diverse heritage of the region.
Then, we'll explore the Roman amphitheater. It's an incredibly well-preserved theater from the Roman era, made of marble and able to seat up to 800 people. Around the amphitheater, you'll find remnants of Roman baths, villas with beautiful galleries, mosaic floors, and even a pleasant garden. We'll continue our journey to the Citadel of Qaitbay, a defensive fortress built in the 15th century on the Mediterranean coast. It stands where the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, once existed. The citadel is imposing and has significant historical importance.
