    Enjoy a visit to Fairview Wine & Cheese during your Cape Winelands experience. Travel from Cape Town to the Paarl wine region and explore this working farm surrounded by vineyards and mountain views. At Fairview, guests can take part in a wine and cheese tasting, sampling a selection of Fairview wines paired with locally produced cheeses. The standard tasting currently includes six wines paired with six cheeses, while other tasting options are available.

    Groot Drakenstein Prison

    Visit the historic Drakenstein Correctional Centre and learn about Nelson Mandela’s final 14 months in prison. Mandela was housed in a private cottage on the prison grounds during this period before his release on 11 February 1990. His departure marked an important moment in South Africa’s transition towards democracy. Guests can see the Nelson Mandela statue outside the prison gates, depicting him walking to freedom with his raised fist. The location provides an opportunity to learn about Mandela’s imprisonment, his long walk to freedom, and the historical events that shaped modern South Africa
