After Reservation, the tour starts at the rental point with the collection of e-bikes and the activation of virtual navigation.
The loop route measures about 29 km and has 190 m of positive elevation gain: medium-easy level. It starts from Orbetello and crosses suggestive environments of the Argentario, alternating cycle paths, paths, secondary roads, paved stretches and short singletracks. The Listing is smooth, but the gravel sections require a minimum of Guide confidence.
The route runs along the lagoon between reeds, views of the water and areas frequented by numerous species of birds, then enters the Feniglia Nature Reserve, crossing the pine forest on shaded and almost flat tracks, with the possibility of stopping near the beach.
The tour finally reaches Porto Ercole, a fishing village dominated by Spanish fortifications, before returning to Orbetello. In the warmer months departure in the morning, water and phone charge are recommended.

Orbetello (Pass by)
Orbetello is one of the most fascinating places in the Maremma of Grosseto, lying on a thin isthmus of land surrounded by the lagoon and overlooking Monte Argentario. Its origins are very ancient: it was already inhabited in Etruscan times, as evidenced by the polygonal walls still visible, and later passed under Roman control. In the Middle Ages and the Renaissance it experienced several dominations, including that of Siena, until it became a strategic center of the State of the Presidia. Today Orbetello combines history, nature and unique lagoon landscapes, with suggestive views, ancient fortifications and an important protected natural area, habitats of flamingos, herons and numerous migratory species.

The Rocca Aldobrandesca of Porto Ercole dominates the ancient village and the sea of the Argentario, offering one of the most suggestive views of the coast of Grosseto. Its origins date back to the Middle Ages: on the hill there was already a small oratory mentioned in 1074, while the first fortified nucleus was linked to the Aldobrandeschi and then expanded in the following centuries. Under the Republic of Siena and, later, during the State of the Presidia, the fortress was transformed into a powerful coastal fortress, with sighting and defense functions. Today it retains the severe charm of ancient military architecture and tells the long strategic history of Porto Ercole.

Fort Philip dominates Porto Ercole from the top of a promontory overlooking the bay. It was built in 1558 at the behest of Philip II of Spain, as part of the defensive system of the State of the Presidia. With its mighty ramparts, moat and panoramic position between the port and Cala Galera, it represents one of the most important examples of Spanish military architecture of the Argentario.

The Marina of Porto Ercole overlooks a natural bay of Monte Argentario, protected by historic Spanish fortresses. Born as a fishing port and strategic point for navigation, the port experienced great importance in the sixteenth century under the State of the Presidi. Today the seafront, animated by boats and clubs, preserves the authentic maritime atmosphere of the village.
