Bruny Island is one of Tasmania's most extraordinary places. Ben Andrews has spent a lifetime on Bruny Island. He knows its backroads, its wildlife, its locals, and its hidden corners.
Your day begins with a pickup from your Hobart accommodation, heading south along the old coastal road before crossing the D'Entrecasteaux Channel by ferry to Bruny Island. A coastal morning tea of freshly shucked oysters, artisan cheese, local bread, and fresh apples sets the tone for a day.
Stops include The Neck - Bruny's iconic lookout with views across Adventure Bay, followed by a relaxed vineyard lunch at the island's only family-run winery. After lunch, choose your afternoon activity: tour the historic Cape Bruny Lighthouse (built 1834), explore the Inala Nature Reserve and Gondwanan Jurassic Garden, or visit the Hiba private garden and Bruny Island Chocolate Company.
Ben's 4WD access opens up hidden corners that group tours simply cannot reach.
