In this experience, you will learn to live like a true Samurai!
Starting with the basics of samurai etiquette, you will learn real techniques and the fundamentals of sword fighting such as pulling out, posing, swinging a sword, etc. Finally, you will be able to participate in a choreographed fight scene. Actors from Abe Dojo will guide you gently and carefully. Killing is an act, so anyone can do it safely and enjoyably!
It is exhilarating to watch as you cut down one enemy after another! Experience it all in one hour!
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Go out the South Exit of Uguisudani Station and turn left. Cross the elevated railway tracks and cross the traffic light. Turn left at Kushikatsu Tanaka. Walk straight and you will see Gogyo on your right. Turn right at the road at 7-Eleven. A house with a purple curtain is Tokyo Bunmon.
What to expect
・Upon arrival, you will be asked to change into a kimono. You may wear a kimono over your clothes.
・Explanation of the sword fighting, changing clothes, and warming up.
・Samurai manners (sitting, standing, bowing), sword drawing, sheathing, and kata practice.
・Practice as the core (main actor) and the side to be cut (entanglement)
・Practice of standing and fighting against multiple opponents by one person.
・And to wrap up the day, we will film a cool stand-up routine in a setting similar to a scene from a period drama, where you will become a samurai hero!
・Each participant can also take video! (Feel free to take pictures with your own camera)
・The experience ends with a commemorative photo!
