What to expect

This samurai experience is taught by the 16th generation descendant of Haniwara Kaga-no-kami Tsune'yasu, a samurai who served the warlord Oda Nobunaga, passing down a tradition with 500 years of history. Master Yukiji Haniwara, a modern-day practitioner who performs dedication ceremonies at Ise Grand Shrine, directly instructs traditional samurai martial arts, Koshu-ryu Jujutsu. You will learn unarmed combat techniques and sword fighting using a katana. You can also experience handling real katana, samurai armor, and matchlock guns. Furthermore, the advanced course includes a completion certificate for the Koshu-ryu beginner course and the creation of a unique 'azana' (samurai name) for each participant.
