What to expect

Authentic Japanese calligraphy at a shrine: large and small brushes
Enjoy a 90-minute calligraphy workshop inside a historic shrine in Tokyo’s Ueno/Asakusa area.

Experience Steps:
1. Meditation & Insight: Put on Japanese attire (samue), calm your mind with brief meditation, and learn basic brushwork.

2. Small Brush Art: Select your favorite Kanji, practice, and write it on premium washi paper.

3. Wish Scroll: Turn your creation into a miniature hanging scroll packaged in a traditional paulownia box.

4.Grand Brush: Use your whole body to write a dynamic character using a giant brush.

5. Tea Time: Relax with Japanese tea and seasonal sweets.
