One of Tromsø Villmarkssenter's main ambitions is competing in dog sledding races, making year-round training essential for both dogs and handlers.
Summer is when our youngest puppies begin learning the basics of teamwork. Join us for one of the most rewarding parts of our job as you help train the future stars of our kennel under the guidance of our experienced handlers.

Meeting and pickup
Please be at the meeting point 15 minutes before departure. Our check-in Agent will be there to meet you. Important! If you are not at the designated meeting point on time and miss the departure, this will be considered a no-show with no refund.
What to expect
At Tromsø Villmarkssenter, dog sledding is our passion, and summer is when our youngest puppies begin learning the basics of teamwork.
Together with our experienced handlers, you will take the puppies on a 1–1.5 hour training hike through the Arctic nature surrounding our husky farm. The puppies are between 4 weeks and around 6 months old, and the training is adapted to their age and development. You'll help with simple exercises, socialisation and confidence-building while enjoying plenty of time to interact, cuddle and take photos.
After the hike, gather around the open fire in our cozy Gamme (traditional hut) and enjoy a warm lunch. We serve Bacalao – a traditional Norwegian fish dish with Portuguese roots – or a vegetarian meal if requested in advance, together with homemade cake, coffee and tea.
Our Alaskan huskies are born and raised as working dogs, and their welfare always comes first. Every training session is adapted to the puppies' age, fitness and wellbeing, ensuring they have time to learn, play and rest.

- Suitable for all physical fitness levels
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- If you are traveling with small children/infants and require a guaranteed car seat, you must bring your own or arrange for your own transportation. We cannot guarantee the availability of child seats in our transport.
- The tour is sold as a complete package with all services included. Using your own transport is optional, but the price remains the same. Activity cannot be guaranteed in case of late arrival.
- Minimum to run the tour is 2 persons
- Vegetarian option is available, please advise at time of booking if required
