The day starts with morning transportation as you travel toward Chichen Itza, one of the most important archaeological sites in Mexico. Once there, your guide will lead you through the stories, structures, symbols, and traditions that shaped this legendary Maya city. After the guided portion, you’ll have time to explore independently.
The experience then shifts from history to nature with visits to two remarkable cenotes. At Suytun, you’ll encounter a unique underground setting with a mystical feel, while Ik Kil offers a dramatic open-air environment framed by stone walls and lush vegetation. Between these stops, enjoy a buffet lunch before continuing to Valladolid, a charming colonial town known for its colorful streets, peaceful ambience, and authentic Yucatecan character.

1Cancun
Your tour starts early with the pickup and boarding process in Riviera Maya or the assigned meeting area. As this is a shared experience, guests may be collected from different points, so the first part of the morning is dedicated to organizing the group, checking everyone in, and getting travelers comfortably settled before leaving. Once the transportation is ready to depart, the journey toward the archaeological region of Chichen Itza begins. The ride is approximately 3 hours, giving you time to rest, enjoy the road, and prepare for one of the most memorable cultural visits in the Yucatan Peninsula.

2Chichen Itza
As the group approaches Chichen Itza, the route may include a short stop near areas of interest located close to the archaeological zone. Upon arrival, travelers will get off the vehicle and continue on foot with the guides toward the entrance area. Before entering, the guide will provide useful instructions, meeting details, and important information to help the group move smoothly through the visit. Inside Chichen Itza, the experience includes approximately 1 hour of guided exploration. During this time, the guide will share the meaning, history, legends, architecture, and cultural value of this remarkable ancient Mayan city. Afterward, travelers will have around 1 additional hour to enjoy the site independently, take pictures, browse nearby souvenir areas, or purchase a drink or snack if desired. Please pay close attention to the guide’s instructions, especially regarding the exact time and place to meet before returning to the transportation.

3Suytun Cenote
The route continues toward Suytun Cenote, a well-known natural site famous for its unique setting and beautiful underground atmosphere. For the ancient Maya, cenotes were much more than natural pools; they were sacred places connected to spiritual traditions, nature, and the underworld. The transfer from the archaeological area to the cenote takes approximately 45 minutes. Once there, travelers will have time to enjoy the refreshing water and admire one of the most distinctive cenote landscapes in the region. A swimsuit is recommended, as this stop includes time for swimming.

4Ik Kil
Another highlight of the day is Ik Kil Cenote, one of the most recognized cenotes in Yucatan. Its dramatic stone walls, hanging vegetation, and open natural surroundings create a powerful and beautiful place to connect with the region’s landscape. During this visit, travelers will have approximately 45 minutes to swim and enjoy the cenote. This stop also includes a buffet-style lunch nearby, where you can try regional dishes and traditional Mexican flavors before continuing with the rest of the itinerary.

5Valladolid
The experience then continues to Valladolid, a charming colonial city in Yucatan known for its colorful streets, calm rhythm, local character, and traditional architecture. This visit offers a different side of the day, allowing travelers to experience the cultural atmosphere of a historic Yucatecan town. Guests will usually have around 30 to 45 minutes of free time to walk through the area, take photos, enjoy the surroundings, and explore at their own pace. This final visit adds a relaxed cultural ending to a day that combines ancient history, natural cenotes, regional food, and local traditions.

6Riviera Maya
After the free time in Valladolid, the guide will confirm the meeting point and boarding time for the return trip. Once the group is back on the vehicle, the drive back toward the Riviera Maya begins. The return journey takes approximately 3 hours. This is a good time to rest after a full-day experience that included Chichen Itza, two cenotes, a regional lunch, and the colonial charm of Valladolid. When the transportation reaches your assigned drop-off point, the team will let you know so you can leave the vehicle safely and conclude the tour.

- For security reasons, travelers may only return to the transportation vehicle when the guide or staff indicates the official boarding time. Guests cannot enter the vehicle ahead of schedule or remain inside while the rest of the group is away, since personal belongings from other travelers may be stored there. This rule helps protect everyone’s items during the tour.
- Group transportation vehicles and seats are assigned according to the day’s operation and availability. Guests cannot choose a specific bus, minibus, or seat through the platform, in person, or with our staff. Our team will always try to help travelers ride comfortably, but we cannot reserve, block, or guarantee any particular seat or vehicle.
- If you are traveling with friends, relatives, or another group under a separate reservation and would like to ride together, please let our team know in advance so we can review the possibility. We will do our best when all travelers depart from the same accommodation, although it is not guaranteed. If the pickup points are in the same city but at different hotels, we may try to coordinate it, but it is still not guaranteed. If the reservations depart from different cities, this arrangement cannot be managed.
- This tour only offers pickup in the cities and areas listed in the Transportation section. Travelers cannot join the group directly at Chichen Itza, at any attraction included in the itinerary, or at any location outside the approved pickup zones. For example, meeting the group at Chichen Itza using your own car is not allowed. Requesting pickup from a hotel within the listed service area, such as Moon Palace Resort, may be possible. For safety, communication, and proper organization, all travelers must meet our team in the morning at the assigned pickup location, board our transportation, and complete the required check in process before the tour begins.
- If your reservation does not yet include a confirmed hotel or meeting point, you must send this information to our team before the cutoff time on the day before the tour. From Monday to Saturday, the latest time is 21:50 hrs, GMT-5. On Sundays, the latest time is 8:00 PM, GMT-5. You may share the information through any available contact channel. After this cutoff, last minute pickup arrangements can no longer be made. If the hotel or meeting point is not received on time, the reservation will automatically be moved to the next available date. This change has no cost, fee, or penalty. However, once the automatic rescheduling applies, the booking is no longer eligible for a refund.
- The durations shown in the itinerary represent the full time assigned to each segment of the experience. This may include driving between locations, time spent at the stop, and the time needed to continue or return along the route. These durations should not be understood as the exact amount of time spent only inside each attraction. Please review the itinerary for the approximate timing details of the experience.
- Our team works hard to keep the tour as close as possible to the planned schedule, but timing also depends on travelers being ready at the assigned pickup time and returning punctually at every stop. Traffic conditions may also affect the route and are outside our control. Please help us keep the day organized by respecting the indicated meeting times and the time allowed at each location. Even a very small delay can accumulate throughout the day and affect the overall schedule.
- The box lunch included in this experience is a fixed option. It is served as part of the standard meal service and cannot be changed or adapted for special diets, food restrictions, or personal food preferences.
- This tour requires a considerable amount of walking. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and suitable clothing for moving around during the day.
- Lunch is served as a regional Mexican buffet, and travelers may choose from the food options available. The buffet includes vegetarian options, but it is not currently adaptable for other specific dietary requirements.
