The day starts with pickup in Cancun, either from your accommodation or from the meeting point confirmed for your reservation. After travelers are welcomed by the team and everyone is on board, the journey begins toward Yucatan and the Chichen Itza area. This first part of the route is the transition from the Caribbean side of the region into a day focused on Maya heritage, local flavors, cenote waters, and colonial scenery. Travelers can use this time to get comfortable before reaching the main cultural stops of the experience.
Before entering Chichen Itza, the route includes a brief stop near nearby points of interest. During this part of the experience, travelers will also have buffet lunch at a local restaurant close to the archaeological area, with regional dishes and traditional Mexican flavors available. After lunch, the group will continue with the guides toward the entrance of Chichen Itza. Inside the site, travelers will enjoy an approximately 1 hour guided visit through one of the most important ancient Maya cities, learning about its temples, architecture, cultural relevance, and the way this civilization lived. Once the guided tour is finished, travelers will have about 1 hour of free time to explore the site at their own pace, take photos, walk through the area, and enjoy the atmosphere of this world famous archaeological landmark.
After the archaeological experience, the tour continues toward Cenote Saamal (It will take approximately 1 hour to get there), a beautiful freshwater cenote surrounded by the natural landscapes of Yucatán. This part of the day adds a refreshing change of rhythm after exploring stone temples, open plazas, and ancient history. Cenotes held special meaning in ancient Maya culture, often connected with sacred beliefs and the natural world beneath the surface. At Cenote Saamal, travelers will have time to enjoy the clear waters, swim, cool off, and take in one of the most unique natural settings of the peninsula. At the end, we will head to the beautiful historic city of Valladolid; the return trip will take approximately 1 hour.
The final stop takes travelers to Valladolid, a charming colonial city known for its colorful streets, peaceful atmosphere, traditional architecture, and rich Yucatecan identity. This visit brings a local and cultural closing touch to the day after the ruins and cenote. Travelers will have approximately 30 to 45 minutes of free time to walk around the area, take photos, admire the colonial surroundings, and enjoy the authentic character of this historic town before beginning the return journey.
After the visit to Valladolid, travelers will board the transportation again for the return toward Cancun and the Riviera Maya. This final part of the experience closes the day with time to rest after a full route through Maya history, regional cuisine, refreshing cenote waters, and colonial charm. The return trip to Cancun and Riviera Maya hotels are approximately 2 hours.
