This is not a standard shared transfer to Samaria Gorge. It is a private, end-to-end logistics solution designed to give you full control of your hiking experience while removing the most stressful part of the day: transportation.
Instead of following fixed bus schedules and dealing with crowded transfers, you are picked up directly from your accommodation and dropped off at Xyloskalo, the entrance of Samaria Gorge, allowing you to start the hike at your own pace.
The return is equally smooth. After completing the gorge and taking the ferry to Sougia, your private driver will already be waiting to take you comfortably back, eliminating the need to coordinate multiple transport connections.
This service offers a more relaxed, flexible, and comfortable way to complete the full Samaria Gorge crossing—without the hassle of group transfers or complicated return planning.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Pickup is provided directly from your accommodation or a nearby accessible meeting point in the Chania region.
Please be ready outside your hotel at least 5 minutes before the scheduled early pickup time, as the transfer to Samaria Gorge starts early in the morning.
Your driver will arrive in a comfortable van or SUV, and you will be transferred directly to the Samaria Gorge entrance at Xyloskalo.
After completing the hike and taking the ferry independently from Agia Roumeli, your return pickup will be waiting for you in Sougia.
You will be dropped at your pick up point.
What to expect
On the day of the activity, your driver will pick you up directly from your accommodation or a nearby accessible meeting point in a comfortable van or SUV. Early pickup ensures a smooth arrival at the entrance of Samaria Gorge before peak crowds.
You will be transported to Xyloskalo, the starting point of the gorge, where you begin your hike independently.
Once you complete the full 16 km crossing, you will arrive at Agia Roumeli, where you will have time to relax before boarding the ferry to Sougia (ferry ticket not included).
Upon arrival in Sougia, your driver will be waiting at the designated pickup point and will transfer you comfortably back to your accommodation in the Chania region.
