Step into a winter wonderland and experience the magic of an old fashioned horse drawn sleigh/wagon ride at Boundary Ranch in the heart of Kananaskis.
Snuggle up under the mountain skies as you travel through snow covered forests and beautiful winter scenery, surrounded by the spectacular Canadian Rockies. Enjoy a complimentary warm beverage as you take in the peaceful surroundings and warm up by our outdoor fire.
During your experience, enjoy a scenic stop at our Buffalo Viewing Paddock, where you can see Canada's largest land animal from the comfort of your sleigh or wagon. Weather and trail conditions permitting, you may also visit our charming Tipi Village.
Whether you're visiting with family, friends or that special someone, a winter sleigh ride at Boundary Ranch is a memorable way to experience the beauty and magic of Kananaskis in winter.
Depending on snow and trail conditions, a horse drawn wagon may be used in place of the sleigh.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Please arrive at Boundary Ranch at least 30 minutes BEFORE your scheduled sleigh ride time. Turn off Highway 40 at the Boundary Ranch entrance sign and follow the road into the ranch. Please proceed to Reception to check in for your ride.
What to expect
Once aboard, settle into the comfortable vinyl padded seats with wooden backs and enjoy the peaceful journey through the winter landscape. Snuggle up under the mountain skies, take in the snow covered forests and enjoy the spectacular Canadian Rockies surrounding the ranch.
Along the way, your ride will stop at our Buffalo Viewing Paddock. This is a great opportunity to take photos.
A complimentary warm drink is included with your experience. Choose from hot chocolate, mocha or coffee. During the winter season, Boundary Ranch is decorated for Christmas, and our outdoor fire provides a cozy place to warm up.
For an additional treat, marshmallows and s'mores are available for purchase. Adults can also upgrade their beverage with an alcoholic addition.
The sleigh ride itself is approximately 30–45 minutes. Depending on snow and trail conditions, a horse drawn wagon may be used in place of the sleigh.
Please dress warmly for the weather. Small lap blankets are provided for extra comfort, and guests are welcome to bring their own blanket as well.
