Although Crete is full of olive wood trees there are only a few olive wood working workshops in the whole area. In our workshop you will experience how a piece of firewood is turned into a toy, a utilitarian object or a piece of art.

What to expect

Become familiar with woodturning through a guided tour and a live performance
Experienced woodturner Joseph Gereige invites you to discover his artistic woodturning
workshop, where the smell of wood, creativity and beautiful forms reign.
The experience will start with a guided visit in the workshop and a brief description of how
we work with olive wood on the lathe, wood properties and what projects can we create.
Joseph will then start working on his project, while explaining the phases and steps
involved in making an object. The visit and the demonstration will last for approximately 1 hour.
