Tour East Indonesia Team will be the operator for this tour. Leave the beaches and markets behind as we take you outside of the places tourists usually tread, on this full day 4WD small group experience. Explore hidden country trails, stunningly beautiful and rural landscapes and friendly locals. Discover ancient temples, hidden hot springs and experience traditional Balinese dishes at lunch, from the top of breath taking Batukaru Mountain, with its panoramic views across the valley.
First stop is a natural stone quarry where villagers have cut the stone out of a dry river bed for generations. From there the trip continues to an agricultural village where you will discover the fragrance of Balinese coffee being roasted and traditional Balinese snacks are freshly prepared for you. Learn to make “canang”, the most important element of Balinese temple offerings and take an optional 30 minutes soft trekking through the rice fields.
After lunch, you will visit Batukaru temple, a unique sacred mountain sanctuary and royal temple of Tabanan dynasty. It was founded in 11th century by Empu Kuturan, a great Hindu Sage who established six main temples on the island of Bali. Here you can pray with the “canang” that you made, as an offering to the Gods.
The next stop is for a sumptuous Balinese lunch, served in the Bamboo Forest Restaurant by WHM surrounded by giant bamboo in a rain forest on the slopes of Mount Batukaru. Enjoy a glass of wine, beer, tea or Balinese coffee in the glorious open-air canopy. You can try to play one of Balinese traditional musical instrument “rindik” or just leave it to the expert and simply enjoy the music.
Located in Bali's Tabanan Regency, boasts stunning terraced rice paddies maintained through the ancient "Subak" irrigation system, a testament to Balinese farming traditions. Recognized for its cultural significance and natural beauty, Jatiluwih was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2012. The name, blending "Jati" (real) and "Luwih" (beautiful), reflects its captivating landscape. A visit offers insights into Bali's age-old agricultural practices and an immersion in its rich heritage. Take a gentle trek through the scenic rice terraces and immerse yourself in the peaceful rural landscape. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of the fields while discovering the traditional farming practices that continue to shape the area. The journey then continues to the impressive Kayu Putih Ancient Tree, a towering natural landmark in Tabanan. Admire its enormous trunk and sprawling canopy, capture memorable photos, and enjoy a peaceful stop surrounded by Bali’s lush countryside.
