  Palatine Hill

  Following the guided tour of the Colosseum, the expedition continues through the square dominated by the Arch of Constantine, one of the three surviving triumphal arches in Rome. Here, we'll marvel at the opulent decorative elements of the arch, adorned with reliefs and statues, shedding light on the artistic preferences of the Romans and the propagandistic and celebratory role of art in the service of authority. Moving on to the Arch of Titus, we'll begin our ascent towards Palatine Hill, the most renowned of Rome's seven hills, a prestigious location teeming with historical significance, warranting our guides' utmost attention. On the Palatine, you'll uncover Rome's ancient origins and encounter the revered sites deemed sacred by the Romans, as they served as backdrops to mythical events that shaped the city's inception.

  Via dei Fori Imperiali

  Descending from Palatine Hill, we'll enter the valley graced by the Roman Forum, which, alongside the expanse of the Imperial Forums, formed the vibrant core and monumental hub of ancient Rome. Under the guidance of our expert, we'll stroll along the Via Sacra, the thoroughfare of processions and triumphs, where you'll be regaled with insights into daily life, anecdotes of renowned statesmen, and tales of ancient legends. Imposing before you will be the most esteemed edifices within the square, such as the Curia, the pristine seat of Roman senators; the rostrums' platforms, from which impassioned political speeches echoed; the assembly area for magistrates' elections, and the awe-inspiring triumphal arches.

  The Arch of Titus, located in Rome, is a remarkable historical monument with significant cultural and political significance. Constructed in 82 AD, it commemorates the military victories of the Roman Emperor Titus, particularly his conquest of Jerusalem in 70 AD. The arch stands as a symbol of Roman power and dominance, showcasing intricate reliefs depicting scenes of triumph and victory. One of the most prominent features is the depiction of Roman soldiers carrying spoils of war, including the sacred Menorah from the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem.
