Start with a scenic drive to Nizwa, where you’ll explore the 17th-century Nizwa Fort, famous for its circular tower and stunning city views. Then, visit the bustling Nizwa Souq, known for its traditional goods, including silver jewelry and Omani daggers.
Next, explore Bahla Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its ancient mud-brick walls and fascinating history dating back to the 13th century. Finally, visit Jabrin Castle, a beautifully preserved 17th-century structure, once a center of knowledge and culture.
After this immersive historical experience, we’ll return to Muscat.

Nizwa Fort is one of Oman’s most iconic landmarks, built in the 17th century by Imam Sultan bin Saif Al Ya’rubi. Known for its massive circular tower, the fort served as a strategic defense stronghold. Visitors can explore its labyrinth of rooms, secret passageways, and historical exhibits while enjoying panoramic views of Nizwa’s bustling souq and surrounding mountains. Nizwa Souq is one of Oman’s oldest and most vibrant markets, known for its authentic Arabian atmosphere. It offers a variety of traditional goods, including handcrafted silver jewelry, pottery, spices, dates, and Omani daggers (khanjars). The souq is especially lively during the famous Friday cattle market, where locals trade livestock in a centuries-old tradition.
Bahla Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of Oman’s oldest and most impressive forts, dating back to the 13th century. Built by the Banu Nabhan tribe, it features massive mud-brick walls and towers that once protected the thriving oasis town of Bahla. The fort is surrounded by a historic 12-kilometer wall and is famous for its legends of ancient Omani craftsmanship and folklore. Note: entrance fee not include
Jabrin Castle is a beautifully preserved 17th-century castle in Oman, built by Imam Bil’arab bin Sultan Al Ya’rubi as a center for learning and governance. Unlike military forts, Jabrin stands out for its intricate Islamic architecture, stunning ceiling paintings, and carved wooden doors. After exploring the historical sites of Nizwa, Bahla, and Jabrin Castle, we will drive back to Muscat, we can drop off anywhere in Muscat area, which takes approximately 2 hours, depending on traffic.
