Most Hawke's Bay bike tours start in town and ride out to the wineries. Ours starts among them. Our shop sits in a vineyard between the Gimblett Gravels and Bridge Pa Triangle Wine Districts, the highest concentration of cellar doors in the region, with your first winery just 200 metres from the gate.
No shuttle, no tour group, no guide to keep up with. Flat, easy cycle trails, your choice of wineries, and we'll collect any wine you buy so you're not carrying bottles all day.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
From Hastings City, drive West along Heretaunga St/Omahu Road towards Fernhill. At the junction with State Highway 50, turn left towards Wellington. Continue on State Highway 50 for 5 Km. Pass Ngatarawa Road and 1Km on left will be Ash Ridge winery and On Yer Bike Winery Tours.
What to expect
We'll fit your e-bike and helmet, give you a route map and point you to the wineries that are open that day. The trails are flat and easy, and most of the riding is on purpose-built cycle trails. Visit as many or as few cellar doors as you like and stay as long as you like. Most people take four to six hours.
Stop for lunch at a winery along the way (own expense), or bring a picnic.
Buy a few bottles? We'll collect them from the winery and have them ready for you at the end of the day. If you get a flat tyre or need a hand, we're a phone call away.
Return your e-bike to the Roys Hill Shop by 5pm to finish your day.
