What to expect

Hello, I’m Jeongju Kim, a traditional Korean calligrapher and craft artist based in Seoul. Join me for a peaceful and hands-on Korean bookbinding experience where you’ll create your own handmade notebook using traditional techniques.

We’ll begin by carefully folding selected 15 papers and arranging them between elegant covers. You’ll choose your favorite thread color and learn the traditional Korean binding method step by step, from making precise holes to stitching the book together by hand.

To make your notebook even more personal, you’ll also learn how to write your name in Korean. After practicing with a brush, you’ll create a beautiful handwritten title piece to decorate your cover.

Your finished notebook can become a special travel journal for your Seoul memories — a place to keep tickets, sketches, thoughts, and stories from your journey. More than just a souvenir, it is a meaningful piece of Korean craft tradition made with your own hands.
