Step back in time with a nostalgic journey on the Papar Train, part of Sabah’s historic railway network and the only rail transport system operating on the island of Borneo. Originally built in the 1890s by the British North Borneo Company, the railway played an important role in transporting local produce, including tobacco, to the port at Kota Kinabalu, formerly known as Jesselton.
