Check in at Scuba-Fun Dive Center, 99222 Overseas Highway, Key Largo. Arrive by 11:45 AM — 15 minutes before departure. Free parking is available on-site. Look for the Scuba-Fun sign on the highway side and check in at the front desk.

What to expect

Spend the afternoon snorkeling two sites in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, starting with the Christ of the Abyss — a nine-foot bronze statue resting on the ocean floor since 1965 in about 25 feet of clear water, visible right from the surface. It's one of the most photographed underwater sites in the world, no scuba gear needed.

After the statue, your captain picks a second reef site based on conditions — so you get the landmark plus a coral reef full of tropical fish, sea turtles, and rays. Because you share the boat with certified divers, the captain heads to the real reef, not the shallow sandy spots snorkel-only boats use. And since divers need a surface interval, you get two stops instead of one.

Mask, snorkel, and fins included — no surprise gear fees. No experience required, but all participants must be comfortable swimmers. Kids 6 and up welcome. The crew gives a safety briefing and stays nearby in the water.
