Molasses Reef is one of the most famous and biodiverse reef structures in the Florida Keys, with more than 25 individual dive sites across its spur-and-groove coral system. Your captain picks two different sites each trip based on conditions, so every dive is a little different — that's what keeps locals coming back. Tanks and weights included with no hidden fees, and full gear rental is available. Great for all certification levels from newly certified to experienced divers.

Check in at Scuba-Fun Dive Center, 99222 Overseas Highway, Key Largo. Arrive by 7:00 AM for morning trips, 12:00 PM for afternoon trips. Free parking is available on-site. Look for the Scuba-Fun sign on the highway side and check in at the front desk.

What to expect

Dive two sites on Molasses Reef — one of the most famous reefs in North America and part of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. With more than 25 individual dive sites across its spur-and-groove coral system, Molasses offers everything from shallow coral gardens to walls dropping to 40 feet.

Check in at Scuba-Fun Dive Center where the crew verifies your certification and helps with gear rentals. Board the boat for the 35-minute ride to the reef.

Your captain selects both sites based on that day's wind, current, and visibility. Expect vibrant coral formations, schools of tropical fish, sea turtles, nurse sharks, eagle rays, southern stingrays, barracudas, and moray eels. Depths are manageable for all certification levels.

Tanks and weights included. Full gear rental available as an add-on. Kids 10 and up welcome. The trip runs about four hours.
