What to expect

Enjoy an authentic home cooking experience with a Berber family in the Atlas Mountains. After a warm welcome with Moroccan mint tea, your local guide will introduce Berber culture, village life, and the ingredients used in traditional mountain cuisine. The guide will be present throughout to translate and assist, as the host family speaks only the Berber (Amazigh) language.

You will take part in a hands-on cooking session inside a real family home, not a tourist restaurant. Learn how to prepare traditional dishes such as a Berber tagine and seasonal salads using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. A highlight of the experience is making traditional Berber bread from scratch—kneading the dough by hand and baking it in a traditional clay oven, an ancestral method still used in Atlas villages today.

During the experience, guests can ask questions and connect with their hosts through the guide. Once the meal is ready, everyone will sit together to enjoy the food they helped prepare in a relaxed family setting. The experience ends with Moroccan mint tea and meaningful cultural exchange, offering a genuine insight into Berber hospitality and mountain life.
