This small-group experience is designed for travelers who want to understand elephants in a calm, respectful, and nature-based setting. Instead of riding, shows, or forced activities, guests observe elephants from a respectful distance and learn about their daily routines, personalities, and natural behaviours.
What makes this tour special is the balance of elephant observation, local learning, and nature. Guests take part in meaningful care-related activities such as cutting grass and banana trees for the elephants’ daily food preparation, giving a better understanding of the work involved in responsible elephant care.
The experience also includes a Thai cooking class, a freshly prepared Thai set meal, and a visit to a nearby waterfall. It is ideal for families, couples, and responsible travelers looking for an educational half-day elephant experience in Khao Lak.
There is no elephant riding, no shows, no tricks, no forced bathing, and no unsupervised direct contact.

1Khaolak Ethical Elephant Sanctuary (KES)
you will have the opportunity to participate in our Herbal Vitamin Ball Workshop and explore a rubber plantation. The workshop will last for approximately 1 hour, where our knowledgeable guides will teach you the traditional techniques of making herbal vitamin balls using natural ingredients. You will learn about the medicinal properties of these balls and their significance in Thai culture. After the workshop, you will have the chance to visit a nearby rubber plantation, where you can observe the process of rubber tapping and learn about the importance of this industry in the local economy. Our experienced guides will share interesting facts and insights about rubber production.

2Sai Rung Waterfall
If the water level at the waterfall is low and swimming is not possible, we will offer an alternative experience at Khaolak Waterside. Please note, we are not obligated to inform customers in advance of this change.
