Restaurant Baudy (Ancien Hôtel Baudy) (Pass by)
The first scene of your theatrical tour is in front of Restaurant Baudy. The scene lasts 20 minutes. You then will proceed to the next stop. Your visit to Giverny begins at its heart: the Baudy hotel-restaurant. It is here that, upon its arrival, a colony of American painters used to gather in order to get close from Claude Monet's house. The latter will welcome you with enthusiasm—and congratulate you on leaving the capital! For him, Paris had become suffocating: there, he is celebrated as a living legend… but no longer as an artist. It's the ultimate irony for someone who revolutionized painting at the end of the 19th century, yet now finds himself treated like a professor—a label that deeply irritates him. Yet he dreams of only one thing: to keep searching, experimenting, doubting, and starting over. And so he chooses exile in Giverny to reinvent his painting… and perhaps, one last time, to reinvent himself.

Museum of Impressionism Giverny (Pass by)
The 2nd scene of your tour is in front of the Musée des Impressionistes. The scene lasts 20 minutes. You then will proceed to the next stop. Your exploration of the village carries on by the Museum of Impressionism, the perfect place for Claude to tell you all about his artistic revolution. In front of the Museum, he will tell you who were these “Impressionists”? How did their approach completely change the rules of painting? But every revolution eventually runs out of breath and becomes the new artistic norm, and here lies Monet’s final tragedy: having become, despite himself, a “classical” painter, he who spent his life fighting against classicism. In an intimate and poignant story, he then reveals to you the true driving force behind his creativity: not passion, but doubt. A deep, almost constant doubt that fuels his ambition as much as it undermines him.

Fondation Claude Monet (Pass by)
The last scene of your tour is in front of the house of Claude Monet. The scene lasts 20 minutes. You then will proceed to the next stop. In front of the house and gardens of Claude Monet, Monet will tell you about his artistic challenges in his last years. The issues with his view and how h emanaged to go on painting. You can now go on and visit his house :) Enjoy your visit and close sometimes the eyes to see Monet by your side, guiding you through the rooms he used to live in.
