Just 20 km north of Liberia, winding through sugarcane fields and hills with the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano as your backdrop, a hidden gem awaits along the dust and nature.

Sit in the tube and relax, floating by the river, hear the flowing water, watch birds fly, and see fish dance around you. Explore the river, look around. Afterward, we will walk to another pool and a small waterfall at the end of the small water canyon. Play with a rope and jump into the river.

Next, drive to the Leona Waterfall hike. Take a short ride in a pickup truck to the trailhead, then embark on a 1.5-hour round-trip hike to discover the hidden waterfall at the end of a box canyon. After the hike, enjoy a traditional Costa Rican lunch at a local restaurant in the town of Curubanda.

Finally, drive to the majestic Llanos del Cortes Waterfall. Spend the afternoon swimming in the large pool at the base of the waterfall, soaking in the beauty of this natural wonder.

Meeting point

Drive north from Liberia along Highway #1 and take in breathtaking scenery. See the majestic Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, surrounded by sugarcane fields, rolling hills, & rivers. After about 10 km, turn right onto a white gravel road for 3 km to the first meeting point of the tour on the ride side.

End point

This is the last place to visit on the tour. We concluded the experience after visiting this place, and everyone started driving back home.
