Private Kamakura Tour – 3 Hours, Your Way

3 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English

Kamakura is where Japan’s first samurai government was established about 840 years ago. As you explore the area, you can discover why the samurai chose this location as their political center. The city is filled with historic temples and shrines, and on this tour we visit three of the most popular sites: the Great Buddha, Hasedera Temple, and Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine.

We finish at Komachi Street, where you can enjoy shopping, try local snacks right at the storefronts, or sit down for lunch at one of the many restaurants. The street is also known for its charming craft and accessory shops.

In the afternoon, you may join an optional tour to North Kamakura. This experience offers a deeper look into Japanese spiritual culture in a quieter, more serene atmosphere. You will visit one of Kamakura’s top temples, and depending on the day, you may even be able to participate in a short Zen meditation session.
