Day 1
Boat Safari and Evening Game Drive

Lake Mburo National Park
Depart Entebbe at 6:00 AM for a 5-hour drive to Lake Mburo National Park. En route, stop at the Uganda Equator for photographs and a short break before continuing to the park. Arrive around midday and head to the lakeshore for a boat safari on Lake Mburo to see hippos, Nile crocodiles and a wide variety of water birds including African fish eagles, kingfishers, herons, cormorants, and, with some luck, African finfoot. The boat excursion ends at approximately 2:00 PM, followed by lunch at the lakeside restaurant. In the afternoon, embark on an evening game drive through the park's acacia woodlands to see large herds of Burchell's zebras, Rothschild's giraffes, Cape buffaloes, impalas, topis, eland, waterbucks, warthogs and several species of antelope. The game drive concludes at around 7:00 PM, after which you proceed to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2
Morning Walking Safari and Mabamba Shoebill Experience

Mabamba Shoebills Watching
Enjoy an early breakfast before departing at 6:30 AM for a guided walking safari inside Lake Mburo National Park. Accompanied by an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger, spend approximately 2 hours exploring the park on foot to observe wildlife from close range while learning about animal behavior. Sightings may include zebras, giraffes, impalas, elands, buffaloes, warthogs, and numerous bird species. After the walking safari, depart Lake Mburo and drive for approximately 3 hours to Mabamba Swamp. Board a small motorized canoe for a guided excursion through the papyrus channels in search of the Shoebill Stork. In addition to the shoebill, the swamp is home to African jacanas, purple swamphens, malachite kingfishers, swamp flycatchers and papyrus gonoleks. After the excursion, drive approximately 40 minutes back to your hotel in Entebbe, marking the end of your 2-day Lake Mburo and Shoebill Safari.
