A good spot for a coffee or light bite before the walk. You guide will be in front of Pumpernickel Bakery. The private tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off in Thamel.

Durbar Square is one of the main UNESCO sites in Kathamndu, it has an entrance fee. Your guide usually walks back from here to Thamel (15 mins), you can check with her before the tour so you can join her if you wish to return also.

    Meet your female guide here before the walk. Arrive a few minutes early — the bakery serves good coffee and breakfast if you want to settle in before setting off.

    Thamel

    Walk through Thamel's main streets and lanes with your female guide. The walk covers four areas: how the neighborhood is laid out and how to move around confidently on your own; where to shop for trekking gear and souvenirs without getting overcharged and which shops to skip; where locals and experienced travelers actually eat and drink, from dal bhat to rooftop restaurants; and practical advice on trekking preparation, yoga studios and cooking classes. This is a conversational walk — ask your guide anything throughout.

  • Kathmandu Durbar Square (Pass by)

    The walk ends at the gates of Kathmandu Durbar Square. Entry is optional and independent, not guided. On the 5PM tour entry is often free after 5PM if you want to explore on your own.
