    Ason has been at the heart of Kathmandu's commercial life for centuries. Traditionally, it has been an important crossroads for trade, connecting different parts of the Kathmandu Valley and beyond. Today, it remains one of the city's great centers of everyday life.

    Indra Chowk

    At Indra Chowk, we visit the Akash Bhairav Temple, one of the city's important guardian shrines, where locals come to pay their respects and make offerings. After this glimpse into Kathmandu's living spiritual traditions, we enjoy our first taste of the morning: a warm cup of Nepali milk tea with sel roti, a traditional rice bread that makes for a simple and comforting start to the day.
