This is a unique opportunity to travel to one of Newfoundlands most breathtaking and sought after remote locations with a small group of no more than six passengers. Your expert guide Deneen is a born and raised Newfoundlander, a certified Yin yoga teacher, forager, and one of St. John's top nature or hiking tour guides.
We will meet you in front of the Alt Hotel at 125 Water St. in downtown St. John's. This is on the southeast corner of Prescott and Water Sts. Deneen will arrive in a vehicle marked with the George's Tours puffin logo.
Our drive to The Cape Shore will take 2-2.5 hours.Along the way, we'll experience breathtaking views of miles of verdant forest and stunning Conception Bay. We may even spot a moose!
We'll travel the scenic Salmonier Line coming and going from The Cape Shore. On our return, time and weather permitting, we'll pause for a nature walk in the boreal forest.
On arrival we'll begin the 1.4 km walk to Bird Rock where we'll take in the jaw-dropping sight of thousands of Gannets, Murres, and Kittiwakes nesting on the cliffs.
We'll visit this, the largest centre on The Cape Shore, first settled by the Irish around 1790. Branch is known as "The gateway to Cape St. Mary's".
