Your day begins with pickup at your hotel or assigned meeting point. Once our team welcomes the group and everyone is ready to depart, the route begins toward the archaeological areas of Tulum and Cobá. The journey to the first part of the itinerary takes approximately 2.5 hours.
The first major visit of the day takes place in Tulum, one of the most iconic Mayan sites in the Mexican Caribbean. Built beside the sea and surrounded by dramatic coastal views, this ancient city offers a unique combination of history, architecture, and natural scenery. During the visit, your bilingual guide will share information about the site, its cultural importance, the way people lived there, and some of the theories connected to the decline of the civilization. The time at Tulum lasts approximately 90 minutes. After finishing the visit to Tulum, the group will board the bus again and continue toward the Cobá area. The drive takes approximately 1 hour.
Before entering Cobá, travelers will stop for a buffet lunch at a nearby restaurant. This is the moment to enjoy regional dishes and traditional Mexican flavors before continuing with the archaeological portion of the tour. Lunch time lasts approximately 1 hour. Cobá offers a different kind of Mayan experience, surrounded by jungle and ancient paths that reveal ruins hidden among the vegetation. This archaeological site is known for having one of the tallest pyramids in the Yucatan region, as well as a powerful connection between nature and ancient construction. During the visit, your guide will explain the importance of the site, how it was discovered, and what made Cobá such a relevant city in the Mayan world. The visit lasts approximately 1 hour. Once the Cobá visit is complete, the journey continues toward Cenote Muul Ichi Ts'ono'ot. The travel time to reach the cenote is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
At Cenote Muul Ichi Ts'ono'ot, travelers will enjoy a refreshing swim in a natural limestone formation, one of the most characteristic landscapes of the Yucatan Peninsula. Cenotes were considered sacred by the ancient Maya, making this stop both refreshing and culturally meaningful. After enjoying the cenote, the group will continue toward Playa del Carmen. The estimated travel time is approximately 45 minutes.
The next stop is Playa del Carmen’s famous 5th Avenue, a lively pedestrian area filled with shops, restaurants, music, and local energy. Travelers will have approximately 45 minutes of free time to walk around, take photos, shop, enjoy the atmosphere, or find something to eat before the return journey.
When the time in Playa del Carmen is over, the guide will indicate the meeting point and boarding time. Once all travelers are back on the bus, the return trip toward Cancun and the Riviera Maya will begin. The ride back takes approximately 2 hours. This final part of the day is a good time to rest after visiting archaeological sites, swimming in a cenote, enjoying regional food, and exploring one of the most popular streets in the Riviera Maya.
