At the east exit of Takayama Station, there is a café called i Cafe. I will be waiting at the entrance. A guide holding a “Takayama & Beyond” sign will come to pick you up.

1The Historic Villages of Shirakawa-go Gassho Style Houses
In Shirakawa-go, you walk through the historic Ogimachi district with your guide, stepping inside several traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses where families lived for generations (entrance fees included). You visit the panoramic viewpoint above the village for sweeping views across the valley (weather permitting), have a relaxed lunch among the thatched roofs, and spend the afternoon exploring the quieter side streets, smaller farmhouses, and local craft shops at your own pace.
