Lantern Workshop with Pineapple

1 hour (approximately)
Offered in: English

Here's what makes the experience unforgettable:
An authentic setting. Create inside a traditional Old Quarter building — atmospheric and historic.

A true master's guidance. Learn directly from a craftswoman with two decades of expertise, trained in techniques passed down through generations of Hội An lantern-makers.

A lantern that's completely yours. Choose your shape, choose your silk, and glue every piece by hand — no two lanterns to come out of this workshop look alike.

A souvenir that travels with you. Once it's dry, fold it flat and pack it straight into your luggage — a piece of Hội An that lights up your home long after the trip ends.

Spaces are limited, since every guest gets real one-on-one attention from the teacher — this isn't a big-group, assembly-line experience.
Book your spot now and bring home more than a souvenir — bring home a story, taught to you by the hands that have kept this tradition alive.

What to expect

Step into centuries of tradition and craft a piece of Hội An to call your own. This hands-on workshop puts you right at the heart of Vietnam's most iconic lantern-making artistry — the same silk lanterns that turn the old town's streets into rivers of golden light every evening.
Here's how the magic unfolds:
Pick your shape. Round, hexagonal, drum-style, or classic teardrop — choose the frame that speaks to you.
Choose your fabric. Run your hands through a rainbow of silks and find the colors and patterns that feel like your lantern.
Bring it to life. Stretch, glue, and shape the fabric onto the frame under the guidance of local artisans who've been perfecting this craft for generations. Watch your lantern take form, glowing and unique.
Take it home. Once it's dry, fold it flat — this lantern packs down small enough to slip right into your carry-on, so the glow of Hội An travels home with you.
No experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to get a little glue on your fingers. By the end, you won't just have a lantern — you'll have a handmade piece of Vietnamese heritage, made by you, for you.
