This activity is for the magpies, crows, beach combers, and those who like to do something a little different! Learn about sapphire mining, hunt for treasure, and share a unique experience with your friends and family!
What's Included
One cup of sapphire gravel, and all equiptment and instructions needed for washing and sorting it
All additional cups of sapphire gravel can be purchased in person for $10/cup

Find free parking in the gravel lot at the corner of 1st ave S. and Hanford on the north side of the Trigger Building. Find DOOR B through that parking lot and call Glitter and Gold Studio on the intercom for building access!

What to expect
Bring up to 8 guests* to mine genuine raw Montana sapphires in the heart of SODO at Glitter and Gold Studio. Bring friends, bring snacks, and BYOB!
Tickets include one cup of sapphire gravel from Montana's oldest sapphire mine, Gem Mountain, and all the tools and instructions you'll need for mining! Additional gravel can be purchased in person for $10/cup (all profits go directly to the Lavender Rights Project for their work on "advancing gender self-determination, collective safety, and community-rooted systems of care").
We begin with a short intro and mining demonstration, then it's time to get your hands dirty and dig into your own gravel to hunt for raw sapphire crystals! At the end, we'll sort and weigh your finds to take home.
*We can host a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8 guests per mining party. Each ticket is good for 1 miner.

- Please get in touch with us ahead of time if you have any specific accessibility needs and we'll do our best to accommodate! Trigger Building does not have any permanent accessibility entrances, however we can rent ramps with enough notice, and sapphire mining takes place all on one floor. There is some getting up and down off the floor and balancing of liquids in the setup process (we can help with this part). The actual mining involves sitting for long stretches and staring into light. If any of this concerns you, get in touch and we'll see what accommodations we can work out!
