Escape Madrid for a relaxed day in Ribera del Duero, one of Spain's most famous wine regions.
Travel through the beautiful Castilian countryside and visit two carefully selected wineries, each offering a different perspective on Ribera del Duero. Explore the cellars, discover how the wines are made and taste a minimum of three wines at each winery.
With two winery visits rather than a packed itinerary, there's time to enjoy each place, take in the scenery and discover the region at a relaxed pace.
Your knowledgeable local wine guide will bring the wines, wineries and landscapes to life without turning the day into a formal wine class. No previous wine knowledge is required.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant at your own expense, with recommendations from your guide.
With comfortable transport and a maximum of 8 guests, this is an easy and personal way to experience Ribera del Duero from Madrid.

Drive to Ribera del Duero. Approx 2 hours.
Our second visit is to a relatively new project, but one founded by people with a long history of winemaking. We walk through the vineyards (weather permitting) to talk about vine growth and to show you a small structure known as a 'guardaviña'. We'll then head into the winery to discuss the various processes used in their winemaking before heading to the cathedral ageing room. Our visit concludes with a tasting of three wines and snacks.
Lunch (optional and not included in price): Should you wish to eat locally, we'll leave you some time to enjoy a local traditional lunch of suckling lamb. We will make reservations ahead of the tour with one of our favourite restaurants. If you'd prefer, we can skip lunch and head straight to the second visit.
Starting in Val Sotillo we will explain the various important points about the D.O Ribera del Duero before embarking on a tour of the winery to learn about vinification methods that will lead us into an network of underground tunnels, a fundemental part of the history of winemaking in the area.
Drive back to Madrid. Approx 2 hours.
