Food samples—lifelike replicas of dishes—are a staple at restaurant entrances across Japan, a unique cultural tradition that originated between the Taisho and early Showa periods (1910s–1930s). At Food Sample RiKi, you can try your hand at creating your very own replica to take home! The basic experience fee is included in the tour, but optional add-ons/decorations are available for an extra charge.

Umeshugura Oyama is an award-winning plum wine (umeshu) distillery celebrated both in Japan and internationally. You’ll enjoy a brewery tour, a hands-on workshop to craft your own plum wine, and plenty of time for souvenir shopping. The brewery tour and plum wine making experience are included in the tour fee. A non-alcoholic plum syrup option is available for non-drinkers or children.

Ukiha Inari Shrine is a breathtaking scenic spot renowned for its dramatic staircase lined with 91 vibrant red torii gates stretching up the mountainside. Dedicated to the deities of business prosperity and academic success, the shrine sits on elevated ground—offering a stunning panoramic view of Ukiha City and the vast Chikugo Plain framed by the red gates.
