Next, visit Michi-no-Eki Munakata to explore local delicacies and fresh seafood. Head over to Riverwalk Kitakyushu for free time to enjoy lunch and shopping, followed by a visit to Kokura Castle to experience traditional Japanese architecture.
In the afternoon, visit Kawachi Fujien Garden to witness over 700 maple trees transformation into a brilliant blanket of crimson and gold foliage.

4Kokura Castle

Kawachi Wisteria Garden, located in the hills south of Kitakyushu, is a private garden renowned for its spectacular wisteria displays, featuring two iconic tunnels adorned with 22 varieties of wisteria in shades of purple, pink, white, and blue. Opened in 1977, it blooms vibrantly from late April to early May, creating enchanting walkways under cascading, sweetly fragrant flowers. In autumn, the garden undergoes a breathtaking transformation from mid to late November, when around 700 Japanese maple trees burst into brilliant shades of crimson, fiery orange, and gold, offering visitors an equally mesmerizing foliage viewing experience.
