3Ginzan Onsen
Nestled in the mountains of Obanazawa, Ginzan Onsen is one of Japan’s most atmospheric hot spring towns, known for its beautifully preserved Taisho-era architecture. Traditional wooden ryokan line both sides of a narrow river, creating a nostalgic streetscape that feels like stepping back in time, especially magical in the evening when gas lamps glow softly along the water. Originally developed around a historic silver mine, Ginzan Onsen today offers a peaceful retreat where visitors can soak in natural hot springs, stroll scenic walkways, and enjoy a quiet, timeless side of Japan far from the busy cities.

- The tour may be cancelled if the minimum of 15 participants is not reached at least 10 days prior to departure.
- Large luggage is not permitted on the tour.
- Store hours in Ginzan Onsen vary, and some shops may be closed in the evening.
- Children must be at least 7 years old to participate. Each child must be accompanied by one adult.
- If fruit picking is unavailable due to crop conditions, the activity will be replaced with a visit to Cherry Land (includes a 2,000 JPY refund).
- Due to shuttle bus congestion in Ginzan Onsen, the return time to Sendai may be significantly delayed.
- Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Late arrivals may not be able to join the tour.
- Seat belts must be worn on the bus in accordance with Japanese law.
- There is no restroom on the bus; however, rest stops will be provided along the way.
- Depending on the number of participants, a smaller vehicle may be used instead of a large bus.
- The tour may be cancelled prior to departure due to severe weather. In such cases, the tour fee will be refunded, but transportation costs to the meeting point are non-refundable.
- The tour may also be cancelled or shortened due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
- Please wear non-slip shoes and dress appropriately for varying temperatures in the Tohoku region.
- If you wish to use the footbath at Ginzan Onsen, please bring your own towel.
