Our professional instructors will help you make your knives in an easy-to-understand way, even if you are a beginner.
Some dangerous work is involved, but don't worry.
The main event of the experience is “forging''. You will heat the iron hot and red, and shape it repeatedly with a hammer. We will carefully teach you how to use the hammer correctly.
Video and photography are also available. If you have any questions about the experience, please feel free to contact us.
Children under 15 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Meeting and pickup
We operate two forging studios in Sakyo Ward, provide the same facilities and experience. Unless noted otherwise, please head to "studio NIN Yase". Depending on reservation status, your session may take place at "studio NIN Kendo". If your location is changed, our staff will contact you in advance.
What to expect
This experience includes
1. Change into a traditional goldsmith outfit for an authentic experience!
2. Learn how to make a knife using the traditional process of making Japanese kitchen knives
3. Process of "forging" is the key in this experience! No worries even if you're a beginner!
4. Sharpening the knife.
5. Polishing the knife and your masterpiece is completed!
The size of the knife is approximately 13 to 15 centimeters, depends on the person.
At studio NIN, we want as many people as possible to experience forging, so we offer a 2.5 hours experience to make a small size knife.
