    A historic Buddhist temple complex spread across Mt. Nokogiri. Major sights include: Jigoku Nozoki: The “View of Hell,” a dramatic rock viewpoint extending above the cliff. Hyaku-Shaku Kannon: A large Kannon image carved into the rock wall. Great Buddha: A monumental stone Buddha surrounded by forest. Rakan statues: Numerous stone Buddhist figures located along the temple paths. The temple involves stairs, slopes, and uneven walking paths. Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.
