Driving, sightseeing, parking, waiting, meals, pickup and drop-off all count toward each day’s 10-hour service. Free waiting time is 30 minutes from each confirmed pickup time. Overtime beyond 10 hours on either day is JPY 5,000 per hour for vehicles up to 14 seats.

Begin your Karuizawa visit with a relaxed walk around Kumoba Pond, one of the resort town’s representative scenic spots. Follow part of the approximately 1-kilometer walking path and enjoy reflections of the surrounding forest and seasonal scenery. Fresh greenery, autumn colors, snow and other seasonal scenery depend on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
Slow down at Harunire Terrace, a forest-side collection of cafés, restaurants and shops connected by wooden decks among native elm trees. Enjoy lunch, coffee or a short walk and experience a quieter side of Karuizawa before continuing to Kusatsu. Your driver-guide can suggest a convenient restaurant according to opening hours, dietary preferences and the day’s timing. Meals, drinks and shopping are self-paid.
Arrive in Kusatsu and explore Yubatake, the steaming hot-water field at the center of the onsen town. Walk through the surrounding streets, browse local snacks and shops, and experience the traditional hot-spring atmosphere before checking into your accommodation.
When the schedule allows, watch the traditional Yumomi and Dance Show at Netsunoyu beside Yubatake. See how Kusatsu’s naturally hot spring water was traditionally cooled using large wooden paddles without adding cold water. This is a third-party activity. Tickets, performance times and availability are not guaranteed and must be confirmed for the travel date.
Take a short walk through Sainokawara Park, where hot spring water flows through the mountain landscape. Enjoy the steaming streams and natural surroundings before continuing to your Kusatsu accommodation. Any paid bathing facilities are optional and self-paid.
Explore Ikaho Onsen along its famous 365 stone steps. Walk past cafés, traditional shops and ryokan, try local snacks, and continue toward Ikaho Shrine if your pace and mobility allow. Guests are not required to climb all 365 steps. Those with limited mobility can enjoy the lower stone-step area, cafés and shops at a gentler pace.
Continue to Kajika Bridge, a vermilion bridge surrounded by forest near the upper Ikaho area. Enjoy a short photo stop before continuing toward Lake Haruna. Autumn foliage and other seasonal scenery depend on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
Finish the mountain portion of the journey at Lake Haruna, a crater lake beneath Mt. Haruna. Walk along the lakeside, stop for photographs or a café, and enjoy a quieter mountain atmosphere before returning to Tokyo. Optional boating, ropeway or other activities are self-paid and depend on operating schedules, weather and available time.
