What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Private car pickup from your hotel reception within Mombasa, Nyali, Bamburi and Mtwapa is included. Pickup outside these areas is available at an additional cost depending on distance — please message us in advance to arrange. Cruise ship guests: vehicles cannot enter the port, so we'll meet you just outside the main gate (a $20/group fee applies).
What to expect
This isn't a staged cultural show. It's the actual village your guide, Rico, grew up in — real homesteads, real elders, and a community of 5 to 10 people who come together specifically for your group: drummers, dancers, hosts, and storytellers. The village fee goes directly to them.
Visit a local school on weekdays and share a real moment with curious, welcoming kids. Join the rhythm when the drums start — this isn't something you watch; it's something you're pulled into. Taste fresh coconut water straight from the tree.
The day closes at Nguuni Wildlife Sanctuary, where giraffes, ostriches and antelope roam freely.
