Explore Casablanca on a private city tour that brings together its most important landmarks, architecture, and neighborhoods. Begin at the Hassan II Mosque, one of the world’s largest mosques, admired for its Atlantic setting, soaring minaret, detailed tilework, and traditional Moroccan craftsmanship.

Continue to Mohammed V Square, where French-inspired buildings, the courthouse, clock tower, and central fountain reflect the city’s colonial-era design and modern energy. Then visit the Habous Quarter, known as the New Medina, and walk through its narrow streets, markets, artisan shops, and traditional architecture.

For Jewish travelers, this tour can be extended or combined with a Jewish heritage circuit featuring Temple Beth-El, the historic Mellah, and the Museum of Moroccan Judaism, the only museum dedicated to Jewish heritage in the Arab world. Ask about combining both experiences on the same day.

    Old Medina of Casablanca

After many years of Roman rule, a different Berber community moved to the area. The Berber kingdom was called Barghawata. Berbers lived close to Anfa again from around 740 AD, with the kingdom growing and gaining strength, eventually capturing the city in 1068 AD. Anfa was then under the control of the Almoravid dynasty. It continued life as a significant port, with the Marinids strengthening the port’s connections in the 14th century. As Anfa’s port became more important, the area started to attract pirates and other nefarious characters. The Portuguese subsequently destroyed the area in the late 1460s and later (in 1515) established a military fortress on the coast, opposite the port. The Portuguese originally called the surrounding area Casa Branca (White House)
