Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine is a hidden sacred site at the foot of Mt. Aso in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, famous for its mystical atmosphere and deep connections with anime. It is not only a place of faith but also a magical place that can instantly transport you into the world of anime. Main Experience Highlights • Moss-Covered Stone Lantern Path: This is the most iconic landscape of the shrine. The approach to the main hall has about 260 stone steps, flanked by 97 stone lanterns covered in moss. On misty or rainy mornings, the area is lush and green, shrouded in fog, creating a mysterious atmosphere. It's an excellent spot for photography and very photogenic. • Anime Pilgrimage: This shrine is a filming location or source of inspiration for famous anime such as Natsume's Book of Friendsand Hotarubi no Mori e.
