Next, you’ll enjoy an olive oil tasting, learning about different varieties, production methods and uses. Olive oil is one of the most important products of the region, and tasting it is both educational and delicious. Lunch includes traditional dishes such as migas, stews and black pork — a tender and flavourful meat that is highly appreciated in Portugal. In the afternoon, you’ll visit a local winery for a wine tourism experience, tasting full‑bodied wines and learning about Alentejo’s winemaking traditions.
The day brings a Mediterranean atmosphere, with colourful markets, fresh ingredients and a fun cooking class. The morning starts with a visit to a local market, where you’ll see fresh fish, vegetables, tropical fruits and regional products. Then it’s time for a cooking class where you’ll learn to prepare cataplana — a traditional Algarve dish made with fish, seafood, vegetables and herbs. The class is relaxed, friendly and suitable for everyone, even those with no cooking experience. Lunch is based on the cataplana you prepared, accompanied by fresh fish and other Mediterranean dishes. The afternoon is free for relaxing, exploring or simply enjoying the Algarve’s sunny vibe
The day brings you north into the Ribatejo region, an area shaped by the Tagus River, fertile plains, horse culture and hearty countryside food. The morning begins with a visit to a traditional Ribatejo market, where you’ll find vegetables from the Charneca, river fish, local breads, cured meats and rustic cheeses. You’ll then enjoy a tasting of Ribatejo olive oil and regional products such as river fish pâtés, local honey, traditional sausages and breads baked in wood‑fired ovens. Lunch features classic Ribatejo dishes such as caldeirada do Tejo, ensopado de enguias, torricado com bacalhau, or carne de toiro bravo depending on availability and season. It’s a relaxed countryside meal, full of authenticity. In the afternoon, you’ll visit a small local producer — either a wine estate, a farm or an artisanal workshop — to learn about Ribatejo traditions and taste more regional products. The day ends with a scenic drive north toward Porto.
Your final day begins in Porto, a city famous for its bold flavours, iconic dishes and vibrant food culture. The morning starts with a visit to the Bolhão Market, where you’ll explore fresh produce, northern sausages, cheeses, sweets and local specialties. Next, you’ll visit the Port Wine Cellars for a tasting experience that explains the history, production and varieties of Port wine. It’s a relaxed and enjoyable introduction to one of Portugal’s most famous products. Lunch can include an optional tasting of the francesinha, Porto’s legendary comfort dish, or other northern specialties such as rojões, tripas à moda do Porto, or fresh fish from Matosinhos. In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a final tasting of northern products — cheeses, cured meats, pastries or regional sweets — before beginning the return journey to Lisbon. The day ends with a comfortable drive back to Lisbon, completing your 5‑day culinary journey through Portugal.
