As a reaction to having come so close to death in this simulated experience, you can feel life with all five senses.
Bushido does not end with the experience of wielding a sword, writing a death poem, or donning armor. You learn everything by understanding the meaning of harakiri the samurai’s ultimate act of honor.
The meaning of “how to die beautifully” in Bushido is the paradox of how to live beautifully. In other words, it means to protect one’s honor, uphold one’s sense of justice, and go down with dignity.

“Water for the Dying”
The ultimate purification to wash away the impurities of this world, and at the same time, a ritual to complete one’s acceptance of death.
“Death Poem”
Proof that one’s heart remains completely untroubled even in the face of death. It is not merely a farewell; it is a cry from a highly refined soul, left for posterity to convey “what one dedicated one’s life to and how one lived it to the fullest.

From a modern perspective, the act of seppuku by a samurai may seem harsh and gruesome, but for the samurai of that era, it was not merely a punishment or an act of suicide; it was a “supreme ritual”
imbued with a unique spirituality and aesthetic.
Today, you will have the opportunity to experience a simulation of that most solemn moment of a samurai’s resolve.

Compassion of a Samurai
It was a grueling act involving cutting open one’s own abdomen and then piercing the heart. Since instant death was difficult to achieve and the process was extremely painful, the role of the keshaku—who beheaded the samurai to end his suffering—was indispensable.
Today, you will also have the opportunity to experience the role of the kaishaku, an act of compassion unique to the samurai code.

Feel “Life” with Your Five Senses
As a reaction to having experienced death so intimately and solemnly—even if only as a simulation—the instincts will veer fiercely toward “life”. Feel the love for your accompanying family and friends and embrace them.
